Sometimes I like to make jars of these as gifts and other times I just make some for myself. It's funny, when I decided to look up a bath salt recipe, it was because I had been interning in a Montessori preschool and the students were making bath salts for Mother's Day. I thought first of all, what a great idea that the mothers will actually USE! And then I thought, wow, how cool of the teachers to include kids in making something so fun and special for their moms. Truly, every experience I have had in a Montessori school has been wonderful, and that is why we are inspired by that philosophy so much!
Anyways, let's get to soaking!
What you'll need:
-2 C epsom salt
-1/4 C baking soda
-6 to 8 drops essential oil of choice
Mix salt and soda until well combined, then add oil drops and continue mixing. Store in a container with a lid, and keep somewhere easily accessible to your bathroom.
*NOTE: Be sure and pick a scent that is not too strong because you will be surrounded by the smell as long as you are soaking. Some of my favorites are: Peppermint/Lavender combination to soothe muscles or Frankincense to uplift the spirit.
